Biscuits and Sausage Gravy

  • ½ lb ground turkey sausage

    1 cup whole milk

    4 tbsp butter

    3 tbsp all purpose flour

    1 tsp salt

    2 tsp fresh ground black pepper

    Buttermilk Biscuits to serve

    1. In a cast iron skillet, melt 2 tbsp of butter and brown the sausage over medium heat.

    2. Remove the sausage from the pan on a dish lined with paper towel, and set aside.

    3. In the same pan, melt the rest of the butter and add the flour. Stir until all the flour is mixed with the butter and it cooks. This will take about 1 minute.

    4. Stir in the milk and whisk constantly, until it starts to thicken.

    5. Add the salt and pepper, and return the sausage to the pan.

    6. Mix everything very well, and serve over freshly baked buttermilk biscuits .
